It has been a while since I have posted a job that involved setting and tying springs. Springs that need to be retied can be the source of a very uncomfortable seat. This can be a very time consuming process if done the right way. Many people will simply retie over the old twine to make the job go faster. I say thats lazy! When I recieve a piece of furniture that needs spring work done to it, I pretty much take the piece down to the frame and build it back up again. My goal is to return the piece to the client the way it came out of the factory. This sofa has down cushions which makes it all the more important to have springs that are in good condition. With that said here is a little slide show…step by step of how this sofa was restored.
